Ultrasonic Level Sensors use a pulsing sound generator and receiver to read sound echoes between the sensor and liquid level to provide a continous level measurement. Ultrasonic Level Sensors work well in tanks that have a perpendicular unabstructed view directly to the non-turbulant surface of a liquid. Please note that the sensors should never be mounted in the center of a domed top tank. The EchoPod® family is a less expensive sensor designed for smaller tanks. It will generate a 4-20mA signal over its maximum range. The 4-20mA signal can be reduced to cover the height of your tank by programming the sensor off-line with a USB programming FOB and free software from Flowline.
