Freezer spacers were explicitly made to speed up the blast freezing process and uniformly freeze all products within a load. The longer a product takes to freeze, the larger the ice crystals on the product become, and the more likely freezer bond is to occur. Freezer spacers allow the maximum amount of airflow to go in between the product to ensure an even freeze throughout, speeding up the freezing process. They also provide fast and uniform thawing, and the open, nestable design allows for easy cleaning and storage for long-term use. Unlike wood that has nails, splinters, and the ability to saturate liquids, the HDPE material of these spacers is resistant to product slippage and most chemicals. Most commonly used in food processing applications, blast freezing applications, or cold storage-type supply chain applications, these spacers are ideal for facilities looking at freezing or tempering down products.
