The black Buna-N is a suitable general-purpose compound that has excellent elastomeric properties. The black natural gum rubber is resistant to petroleum-based products and is ideal for applications requiring a soft rubber seal. It can conform to irregular flanges with bolt heads, is non-marking, has excellent tear strength, and is abrasion-resistant. The white Buna-N sheet meets FDA standards (the black does not) and is typically used in food processing applications.
