These larger diameter floating spheres are designed to form a durable surface cover for lagoons, settling ponds, open pits, reservoirs, and runoff basins. When deployed as a blanket, the UV-stabilized balls cover up to 91% of the surface area, helping deter birds from landing or nesting while also reducing odors, vapor release, heat loss, and evaporation. Made from chemical-resistant HDPE, the spheres withstand sun, rain, ice, snow, and wind with no maintenance required and an effective service life of over 10 years. Installation is quick and simple, and the balls will automatically rise and fall with changing liquid levels. Their smooth, rimless design prevents chemical buildup and allows the spheres to form a tight, continuous surface cover. HDPE spheres provide enhanced resistance to oils and hydrocarbons and are less susceptible to stress cracking at low temperatures. The black spheres are recommended for outdoor use to reduce UV exposure, helping prevent algae growth and weed clogging without the use of chemicals.
