Important Installation and Maintenance Instructions for the Series ™ Two Float Drums.

The Series 2 Float Drums include an expansion vent feature designed to accommodate contraction and expansion of the floatation drum due to changing air temperature. This improved design feature will assure longer life for the flotation drum.
Installation

You will receive a separate package containing the expansion vent plugs. The expansion vent plugs must be installed prior to attaching the Series 2 Float Drums to the dock framing. Installation only requires seconds and will greatly increase the life span of the floatation drum. A 5/16” Allen Wrench is required for proper installation.

Use a clockwise rotation to start the vent plug into the expansion vent. Use the 5/16” Allen Wrench to complete the plug installation. Do not overtighten the plug in the expansion vent.

Once the expansion vent plugs are installed you may attach the Series 2 Float drum to the dock framing using either the 3/8” lag bolt and flat washer, the self tapping screw and flat washer, or the through bolt connection. We recommend a minimum of two mounting points, contained within the 2” perimeter mounting flange, on a minimum of two opposite side when installing the floatation drum to the dock framing.

The Series 2 Float Drums include an expansion vent feature designed to accommodate contraction and expansion of the floatation drum due to changing air temperature. This improved design feature will assure longer life for the flotation drum.

Maintenance

The expansion vent plugs should be removed from the floatation drums when storing the dock indoors or in direct sunlight. The series 2 float Drum should be stored upside down. If removed, the vent plug must be re-inserted prior to reusing the floatation drum per the instruction sheet.
