Information on the types of glass used in the bottles and vials.

Type I Glass

Containers made of Type I Borosilicate glass are generally used for preparations that are intended for parenteral administration. Highly resistant borosilicate glass.

Type I Borosilicate Glass has the most stringent extractable standard. Our glass vials are borosilicate glass.

Type II Glass - Treated soda lime glass

Type II Treated Soda Lime Glass Formula (Type 3) has been treated in the annealing oven (lehr) with sulfur to reduce alkali solubility. This treatment produces a very slight tinted appearance.

Type III Glass – Soda lime glass

Type III Soda Lime Glass has been tested and shown to have a specified extractive level. Soda glasses not meeting Type III qualification are classified as USP type NP. Our bottles and jars are Type III Soda Lime Glass.

Type NP Glass – General purpose soda lime glass.

  1. Colors
  2. Flint (clear)
  3. Amber

Ideal for light-sensitive compounds which need protection from light or ultraviolet rays.

Our bottles go through a Vacuum and Ionization cleaning process which removes contaminants such as loose dirt, carton lint, aerosols, and fine glass particles.

V&I Cleaning Process:

  • Compressed air passes through a condensate separator and coalescing filter to remove aerosols and fine dust particles.
  • Next, the air passes through an absorbent filter to remove gases.
  • A vacuum draws the particulate-laden atmosphere out of the container.
  • Individually cleaned closures are immediately placed on the container.
