How do I figure the dimensions on a TEE?

A reducing tee has two different dimensions. The branches are one size, and the stem is the other size. The first number will be the branches. The second number will be the stem.

Sample: Our item #58227 is a Reducing Union Tee with the dimensions of 1/2" Tube OD x 3/8" Tube OD. The branches are 1/2" OD, and the stem is 3/8" OD.
