Can USP thread the PVC pipe?

We do not thread PVC pipe at our facility. We can cut it to length, but we will not thread it. You can thread it yourself using a pipe tap or die, which you should be able to get at your local hardware store. It is not recommended that the Schedule 40 pipe be threaded because the wall is too thin. You should only thread Schedule 80 and heavier pipe. There is a 50% de-rating factor for the pressure it can withstand to compensate for the threads, which are stress concentration points.
