Job Title: Warehouse Stock Receiver

Job Description:

The warehouse receiver's job consists of helping to unload all UPS and motor freight trucks, checking the counts of cartons received and verifying the counts before signing freight bill. The receiver will runs PO numbers and match the PO to the packing slip and check in all items. The receiver will then stock the items in the correct bins in the warehouse. The receiver will operate pallet hand jacks, fork trucks and stock pickers.

Physical Environment:

The packing station is located in the warehouse, which is heated and ventilated but not air-conditioned. The noise level is typical of warehouse operations. There is handling of rough cardboard and plastic items. Tools used are: a hand-held and floor/foot-triggered air stapler, razor knives, hand and table model tape dispensers, plastic banding machines, and various carts, hand trucks, or dollies.

Regular Shift/Hours: First shift, Monday-Friday, 40 hrs./week plus overtime as required.

Job Requirements:

Able to read at a high school level and have good verbal communications with coworkers and supervisors. The packer must be able to walk, stand, bend, and lift and carry boxes for an 8-hour shift. Most cartons will range from 1 to 25 pounds in weight and should not exceed lifting requirements of 45 pounds. Packaging of items over 45 pounds Is performed on a cart, pallet, or floor, and should not require lifting. Pushing and pulling boxes, carts, trays, and other containers or items is required. Flexibility is important.

Ability to use a pallet hand jack, fork truck and stock picker is required.

The plant supervisor or assistant warehouse manager will provide training. Weekly reviews are performed to ensure that basic competencies are met. All other company policies and procedures must be followed as they apply.
