This fiberglass is a proprietary formulation of isophthalic polyester resin that offers excellent resistance to various chemicals. It is lightweight, high-strength, and provides years of low-maintenance service in environments that have traditionally used steel, aluminum, or wood components. All shapes, except for the solid square and rod, feature a low flame spread rating of 25 or less, when tested according to ASTM E-84. Fibergrate Dynaform™ pultruded fiberglass structural shapes maintain dimensional stability, keeping their cross-section intact due to a low coefficient of thermal expansion. They are also non-conductive, enhancing personnel safety, and exhibit electromagnetic transparency, allowing for the unobstructed transmission of radio and microwave frequencies. The maximum working temperature for this fiberglass is 150°F, and it is resistant to UV light, making it suitable for highly corrosive applications where expensive materials like stainless steel were once required. Please note that solid rods do not provide low flame spread ratings. The material is typically gray unless otherwise stated. Tolerances are as follows: angles, thickness ±10%, width and depth ±5%; channels, thickness ±10%, width and depth ±5%; and I-beams, thickness ±10%, width and depth ±5%. For round and square tubes, thickness tolerance is ±15%, with an outer diameter (O.D.) under 2" at ±0.020" and 2" and up at ±0.040". Round and square bars have an O.D. tolerance of ±0.010". Note: Lengths 8' and longer must ship via motor freight. For small parcel shipping, choose from shorter available lengths. Custom cuts are available—call 1-800-335-6809 or email quotes@usplastic.com.
