These clear glass Boston rounds have been coated in a layer of Plastisol, a solution of PVC resin in a liquid plasticizer that cools to form a perfectly-fitting plastic coating. In the case that the glass does break, the plastisol coating will contain the contents in the bottle long enough to allow for proper disposal.
