How to Make a Cashier Shield

This video shares how to make a cash register shield from clear PETG sheet in a few simple steps. You can also download & print the directions for easier access.

DIY Step

Step 1 — Collect the Materials & Tools

1. .090" (or thicker) Vivak® PETG Sheet Cut to size that meets your needs. Shop Now
2. Snap-On Wear Strip 1/8" to 3/16" Thick Two pieces are needed cut to length for the top and bottom. Shop Now
3. Double-sided Gorilla® Tape Used to attach the bottom strip. Shop Now
4. 3 Nuts & Bolts - -
5. 2 Lengths of Chain - -

Step 2 — Align the Strips

Align the top strip to the top of the sheet and hold in place temporarily to drill the holes in the next step.

Step 3 — Drill the Holes

Drill two holes on either end of the strip and sheet (about 1" from the end and 1" down from the top), and one in the middle. Also drill two more holes to attach the chain.

Step 4 — Fasten the Nuts & Bolts and the Chain

Fasten the nuts and bolts to attach the strip to the top of the sheet. Also hook the chain in place so it is ready to hang.

Step 5 — Attach the Bottom Trim

Using the Gorilla® tape attach the trim to the bottom of the sheet.
