First, they must be in the same series for connecting the coupling body and the coupling insert. All but the PLC and PMC series are interchangeable no matter what size the end connections are in the series. On the PLC series and PMC series, the flows have to match for them to connect.
A complete set comprises the coupling body and insert. The coupling body is the part with the release button, and the coupling insert is the part that inserts into the coupling body. These are sold separately, so you must purchase both for a complete coupling. Below is some general information on the quick disconnects that we offer:
High Flow Quick Disconnect (HFC Series)
Available in polypropylene and polysulfone, as shutoff or straight-through and in 3/8" to 3/4" sizes. These are the only ones with GHT (garden hose thread) connections.
Polypropylene Extra-flow Couplings (EFC Series)
Only available as shutoff, in 1/4" and 3/8" sizes.
Polypropylene and Acetal Quick Disconnect Coupling (PLC series and PMC series)
Available in acetal and polypropylene, as shutoff or straight-through and 1/16" to 3/8" sizes with flow sizes of 1/8" and 1/4".
NS4 Non-Spill Couplings
Non-spill couplings which are all shutoff. Available in sizes from 1/8" to 3/8" sizes.
NS6 Non-Spill Couplings
Non-spill couplings which are all shutoff. Available in 3/8" and 1/2" sizes.
NSH Non-Spill Couplings
Non-spill couplings which are all shutoff. Available in 3/8, 1/2" and 3/4" sizes.
Non-spill Couplings (PF Series)
Non-spill couplings which are all shutoff. Available in FNPT, in 1/2" and 1" sizes.
Acetal All Plastic Quick Connects (APC Series)
Available as straight-through or shutoff, in 1/4" and 3/8".
Subminiature Couplings (SMC Series)
Available as straight-through or shutoff, in 1/16" and 1/8" sizes.
